News Conference in Austin on Wednesday
Attorneys representing Texas death row inmate Delma Banks, Jr. will hold a news conference on Wednesday, March 5 at the Texas State Capitol, Wednesday at 1:15 p.m.
Mr. Banks is scheduled for execution on Wednesday, March 12, 2003. However, Mr. Banks has maintained his innocence from the time of his arrest and there is substantial doubt that he committed the crime. Mr. Banksí case highlights many of the systemic flaws found in Texasí application of the death penalty.
Former FBI Director William Sessions has signed an
amicus brief on behalf of Mr. Banks, urging further review by the courts.
